What is the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association (with Hungarian acronym TDK) and the Conference?
- The aim of the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association is to enable talented students to be able to adapt to their career paths in accordance with their abilities, to become acquainted with the basics and methods of scientific research and artistic activity, to engage in research in their field of expertise and arts.
- It is a form of self-study designed to promote student research and artistic creativity. A continuous tutorial (mentor) student-teacher collaboration, an important area of highest quality intellectual program, the most important and most significant form of talent management in Hungarian higher education.
- As a result, students gain a deeper understanding of the art field, profession or discipline. It also promotes the acquisition of research methods and the development of the students' abilities.
- Within the conference, students have opportunity to present the results of their research.
In the frame of the Scientific and Artistic Students’ Association Conferences and Talent Days (twice a year), two types of sessions are organized.
One of them is the International Scientific Workshop (for all international students, included enrolled students, exchange students, partner institutes’ students; only a presentation is expected; competition on institutional level)
The other one is the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association’s Conference’ sessions (only for enrolled students of Széchenyi University – written research document/essay and presentation are expected; opportunity to advance to the national level conference)

We are delighted to invite you to the Scientific and Artistic Student Conference, which will take place on 7 May, 2025.
We welcome applications from all students who wish to present their work in any scientific or artistic field. Based on the competition results, participants may qualify for the National Scientific Students’ Conference (OTDK), held biennially, which is Hungary's most prestigious academic event.
How to Participate in the Conference?
Participants must prepare and present a scientific/artistic project. We recommend seeking guidance from your instructors/mentors during the preparation process. Your chosen topic does not need to be related to your studies; however, it must be explored in greater depth and detail than a typical semester assignment.

Exception for the title page: The written work must include the following on the first page:
- Name(s) of the author(s)
- Title of the work
- Program of study
- Academic year
- Name(s) and position(s) of the supervisor(s)
Presentation:
You will have 10-15 minutes to present your findings, followed by a 5-minute discussion. The presentations will take place in the conference sessions on 7 May, 2025 organized by academic disciplines.
The written work will be evaluated by two reviewers, while the oral presentation will be assessed by a panel of experts.
The results will be announced at the closing ceremony, where participants may win placements, special prizes, and qualification for the next National Scientific Students’ Conference (2027).
