"Talent is the shortest path between two points." Talent points serve as the foundational units of the national talent support network and act as vital nodes within the Hungarian Genius Network for the flow and processing of information.

Széchenyi István University was recognised as an accredited talent point in 2014, and in 2020, it achieved the status of an Accredited Excellent Talent Point. Operating with a local and institutional scope, its core responsibilities include the identification of talent, talent management (encompassing financial aid, management support, and training/development), counselling, and career orientation. Furthermore, it provides personalised guidance on opportunities and information to talented young people, while fostering collaboration within the wider network of talent points.

The university monitors institutional, local, sub-regional, and regional talent support initiatives, assisting them in establishing more robust relationship networks. This includes connecting these initiatives with one another, with talented youth and their support environments, with specialists experienced in talent management, as well as with supporting local government bodies, ecclesiastical and civil organisations, businesses, and private individuals. Alongside its role as a local integrator, the university is itself an integral part of the Hungarian Genius Network.
