Széchenyi István University organized the sections within the framework of the institutional TDK (Scientific Students' Associations) Conference on April 29, 2026. All 9 faculties collaborated in organizing the Conference. The sessions took place on the central campus and the Management Campus. The University's management provided a day free from teaching and mid-term exams for this event.

The stake was the eligibility to enter the 2027 National Scientific Students' Associations Conference (OTDK).

The conference—and the Talent Day organized within it—was accompanied by a high level of interest: the registration form was completed by 426 individuals. Including the jury members, the total number of participants was nearly 640.

The research papers were reviewed in advance by professional evaluators, and the students were informed of the content-related results beforehand. The content of the submissions determined the composition of the sections. The University's Council of Scientific Students' Associations (TDT) placed great emphasis on ensuring that the scientific works were comparable within the sections and that the names of the sections reflected the subject matter.

In some instances, a student participated with multiple research papers, and there were also cases where a single paper was co-authored and co-presented by multiple students simultaneously. The final data at the TDK Conference:

• Within the framework of 47 sections

• 261 university students and 9 high school students in the high school sections, as well as 7 high school students in the university sections.

• Results were presented in 254 scientific and 172 artistic presentations.

The number of participants was distributed according to the following table:

The data was measured based on the faculties attended by the students. In some cases, the topic of the research papers differed from this field, so in certain sections, students studying at different faculties could also compete against each other. The announcement of results took place on April 29 from 5:00 PM, following the conclusion of the sections. The certificates were handed out to the students in person at the closing ceremony.

A total of 47 research papers received first prize, 47 second prize, 28 third prize, and the jury awarded special prizes to 55 submissions in the sections. At the Conference, a total of 158 research papers earned eligibility for the National Scientific Students' Associations Conference to be held in the spring of 2027.

International students participated in the Conference again this semester. Ultimately, a total of 36 represented themselves and achieved results: 2 first, 2 second, and 1 third prizes, as well as 3 special prizes. 8 students earned eligibility for the OTDK.

High school students could also compete against each other by only delivering a presentation (without a written research paper). 8 students arrived at the Conference from 3 high schools, and they competed against each other in 1 high school section, furthermore, one high school student participated in the university section.

The announcement of results for the high school sections took place at 3:30 PM in room B3. The placements earn extra points in case of applying to SZE.

CONFERENCE

• 7:30–8:30 The conference began in the morning hours with the arrival of the participants. Registration took place during this time slot in the central aula, where students and presenters could check in for the event.

• 8:30–09:30 The central opening ceremony took place in room D1. The series of events started with the opening remarks of Dr. Konczosné Prof. Dr. Márta Szombathelyi, President of ETDT, followed by the welcoming speech of Rector Prof. Dr. Ferenc Friedler. The speeches were followed by a cultural block: László Dávid Hoffmann, a student of the Faculty of Arts, performed Isaac Albéniz's Asturias, prepared by Titular Associate Professor Ede Roth. The performance was followed by a professional panel discussion with the members of the Marokbaba team (Lídia Kincses-Kádár, Dorina Bárdi, Kristóf Kádár). At the end of the block, the further schedule of the day and technical information were presented.

• 9:30–13:00 The professional programs ran in parallel during the morning. On the one hand, the student section sessions started in the lecture halls of buildings A, B, C, D, and MC, as well as the music sections in the Concert Hall. On the other hand, the Art high school section session took place at this time in room B3.

• 15:30–16:00 In the first part of the afternoon program, the first announcement of results was held in room B1. Here, the best of the high school section of the Faculty of Arts (MUK) were awarded.

• 17:00–18:00 The day concluded with the closing ceremony and the announcement of results held in room D1. The program was once again opened by a musical performance: Antonio José's Sonata para guitarra (Minueto movement) and Johann Kaspar Mertz's Fingals Höhle were performed by László Dávid Hoffmann, prepared by Titular Associate Professor Ede Roth. Following this, Eszter Tóth, the Managing Director of the Universitas-Győr Foundation, gave a briefing on the SZEA scholarship. Finally, the University Council of Scientific Students' Associations handed out the awards and announced the further section results.

TALENT DAY

The organizers - the Scientific and Artistic Students’ Association Council of Széchenyi István University and the University’s Students Government – cordially invites all international students to join to the programs of the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association Conference and Talent Day.

The Talent Day programs will be organised in the frame of the full-day Conference and Talent Day 24th April 2024. Interesting lectures, trainings, exhibitions, music programs give the opportunity for the participants spending the day usefully.

Talent Day programmes:

• 13:00 – 14:00 The afternoon series of programs started in room B3, organized by the Kautz Gyula Faculty of Economics. The interactive training titled "Advantages, Disadvantages, Mental and Physical Dangers of Using Smart Devices" was held by University Assistant Professor Dr. Katalin Vajda, where participants received practical advice for maintaining mental balance.

• 13:30 – 14:00 The Joint Fine Arts Exhibition featuring the works of SZE AK students and the students of the SZE School of Dance and Fine Arts opened in the upstairs exhibition space of the New Knowledge Space (Új Tudástér). The exhibition showcased the fine art creations of university students participating in the TDK, as well as students of the Győr School of Dance and Fine Arts. Guests were welcomed by Dr. habil. Nóra Horváth, Program Director of the SZE College for Advanced Studies in Arts, and the exhibition was opened by Dr. habil. László Szunyogh, Sculptor and University Associate Professor.

• 14:00 – 15:00 In room ÚT 114, interested individuals could participate in the training titled "Help-App: Supporting Personal Safety with Modern Digital Solutions," presented by Krisztina Horváth, Master Instructor and Field Coordinator.

• 14:00 – 16:00 In the Aula, in front of the Talent Wall, Ferenc Barla and his team awaited visitors with spectacular physics experiments. The demonstration featured the Heron's fountain built by Mihály Saáry-Bognár, as well as many other exciting phenomena, such as Pythagoras' cup, the Forest handwasher, Heron's sphere differently, and from 14:30 other interesting experiments could be viewed.

• 15:00 – 16:00 At 15:00, the arts took over the Aula. First, the audience could see the production of the SZE SosemArt University Theatre Company: Dóra Szakály performed Yuval Raphael's work titled New day will rise under the artistic direction of Attila Csillag. Following this, at 15:05, an elegant ballet performance by the dance department students of the SZE Győr School of Dance and Fine Arts took place, under the professional direction of Zsuzsanna Kara.

• 15:15 – 16:15 As the closing of the accompanying programs, in room B1, Tibor Sárdi, Titular Associate Professor, Certified Economist, and Numerologist held a lecture titled "What is numerology in a business context?". Participants could gain insight into how numerology can affect business decisions, how a brand name can be optimized, and what the ideal timings for campaigns are.

• All-day accompanying program: During the entire duration of the conference, it was worthwhile to visit the University Aula, where the Diploma Award exhibition of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Chamber of Architects, as well as the spectacular "unpacking" of the Architect Studio House, were continuously on display.
