Call for proposals for Scientific and Artistic Students' Association Conference of Széchenyi University 26 November 2024

We are pleased to be able to invite you to participate in the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association Conference, to be held on 26th November 2024. International students from all fields of science are welcome.

We are waiting for the application of all students who would like to present his/her written scientific work in the field of any sciences/arts. In this competition, according to the results, students can qualify for the biennial National Scientific Students’ Conference (OTDK), the largest scientific event in the country.


How to participate in the Conference?

Participants should prepare a written scientific/artistic work and present it. It is recommended to ask one of your mentors / teachers / professors to support your preparation. It is not essential for the topic of your choice to be related to your studies, but it should be more detailed and in-depth than the usual semester work.

In the case of the written work, the content and form requirements are the same as the regulations in the OTDK section call of the relevant discipline: https://otdk.hu/otdk/szekcio-felhivasok.

An exception is the title page: the title of the author(s), title of the work, specialization, grade, name and position of the supervisor(s) must be indicated on the front page of the written work.

In the case of the presentation, you will have 10-15 minutes to present your results with an additional five minutes provided for discussion, in the frame of the sessions of Scientific Conference on 26 November 2024. The sessions will be compiled by disciplines.

Two reviewers will evaluate the written work. A jury of scientific experts will evaluate the oral presentation.

The results will be announced in the closing ceremony. Rankings, special awards and qualification to the next National Scientific Students’ Conference (2025) can be won.

What is the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association (with Hungarian acronym TDK) and the Conference?

The aim of the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association is to enable talented students to be able to adapt to their career paths in accordance with their abilities, to become acquainted with the basics and methods of scientific research and artistic activity, to engage in research in their field of expertise and arts.

It is a form of self-study designed to promote student research and artistic creativity. A continuous tutorial (mentor) student-teacher collaboration, an important area of highest quality intellectual program, the most important and most significant form of talent management in Hungarian higher education.

As a result, students gain a deeper understanding of the art field, profession or discipline. It also promotes the acquisition of research methods and the development of the students' abilities.

Within the conference, students have opportunity to present the results of their research.

In the frame of the Scientific and Artistic Students’ Association Conferences and Talent Days (twice a year), two types of sessions are organized.

The other one is the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association’s Conference’ sessions (only for enrolled students of Széchenyi University – written research document/essay and presentation are expected; opportunity to advance to the national level conference)


Talent Day

The organizers - the Scientific and Artistic Students’ Association Committee of Széchenyi István University and the University’s Students Government – cordially invites all international students to join to the programs of the Scientific and Artistic Students' Association Conference and Talent Day.

The Talent Day programs will be organised in the frame of the full-day Conference and Talent Day 26 November 2024. Interesting lectures, trainings, exhibitions, music programs give the opportunity for the participants spending the day usefully.
